What’s up guys and thanks for coming back to read another blog of ours. In this blog, we’re going to share with you a project that we did for the first time in Wixom Michigan, and how it turned out. We also have a YouTube video to complement this blog if you’d like to see more information about it.
Wixom Paver Patio Install
For this project, we designed and built an outdoor living space that includes a paver patio, pillars, seating wall, walkway, and driveway extensions. This project took place in Wixom Michigan and took about a week and a half to do in total. The customer and I met earlier in the spring to discuss his project and worked through a couple of different design iterations that made them both comfortable aesthetically and financially.
For this space, we decided to utilize our famous Beacon Hill smooth in the granite colorway with a Holland Premier border. We decided to add in a touch of flair with the U-cara pillars/seating walls which look super nice and our intention was to leave the homeowner with space to access the other side of his yard when not using his patio.
Ledgestone Coping
A key detail that we added to this project that made it pop was using the Ledgestone coping. Versus using the regular universal coping that Unilock provides, we decided to utilize the Ledgestone coping to give it more detail and decrease the likelihood of family and friends having the same features in their own backyards.
This was a new construction home and quite frankly we love working in new construction homes due to a couple of factors. The first is that it’s a very open space and there’s not much that can be ruined in the making of a new backyard. In addition to the fact that we don’t have to worry about potentially irritating neighbors with noise because everything in the area is currently under construction.

Overall this is a great project and it happened very fast. I love that we decided to use the ledge stone coping because it added additional details to this project and I really do appreciate that the homeowner decided to add the driveway extensions. Driveway extensions typically get overlooked but it seems more recently homeowners have been adding driveway extensions to the new construction homes which is an indication that builders should be widening the driveways that homeowners have for their homes. The reason this is important is that it gives you space to step out of your car and not have to step in potential snow, rain, and or mud.
