Our recent project on Elizabeth Lake Road showcases a transformative landscape design that dramatically improved a residential property’s functionality and curb appeal. After reconnecting with homeowners we initially met three years ago, we collaborated to create a comprehensive retaining wall solution that addressed multiple landscaping needs.
Project Scope
The homeowners envisioned a complete front entrance renovation, requesting three distinct retaining wall installations:
– Sidewalk retaining wall
– Driveway retaining wall
– Planter bed and staircase wall
Material Selection
After carefully reviewing options at Stone Depot in South Lyon, the homeowners selected a Unilock retaining wall system. The chosen design offered:

- Granite color palette complementing the home’s blue siding

Planter Bed Retaining Wall
This smaller wall served multiple purposes:
- Created storage space for landscaping materials
- Provided access points to a front-yard pond
- Added a small stairway to the front porch
